Sai’s teachings to live within means

Spread the love

Sai always says that if one has the money, he must use it for his happiness and if not, he must not imitate or copy others. If one has the money and does not spend or if he does not have and borrows to spend, both are wrong. A wealthy person is recognised by his looks and personality, not by his show off etc. Many own cars today, but they have been purchased on loans. We must spend only from what we have and not add a liability by borrowing.
Nowadays even sisters want to copy each other. One feels that if the other is wealthy, why not me? But that is as per our karma, our deeds. One sister feels that parents gave Rs 2 lakhs to the elder one, I should also get the same, even if they are in debt.

To be really happy, one must spend as per what one has. If one has Rs 1,000, he must enjoy the pleasure of that 1000, instead of thinking of Rs 10,000 and foregoing that too.
We are often unhappy because we want what others have and hence we are unable to enjoy even what we have been gifted by the Lord. Sai also says, spread your legs as per the length of the blanket. If you are shopping and have Rs 1,000 with you, refrain from even looking at things costing more than Rs 800. By doing this, you are able to control your mind’s instability.

This way Sai wants us to have everlasting happiness by being always content from whatever we have!
